I’m terrified of spiders. In fact, when I see one I either run away or I smash it. Not because I hate the spider but because I’m scared. Other people who aren’t afraid of spiders either laugh at me or think something is wrong with me but nobody labels me “aggressive” or a threat to society. Growing up, my parents always used music to describe how they were feeling. I don’t quite remember how old I was but my parents had got into this huge argument. Last night I was informed that NBC was doing a segment on their 11 o’clock news called, “Dangerous Dogs”. Of course, I had to watch it because I just knew it was going to be about “pit bulls” in some way, shape or form. So Penny and Elvis got to go to the beach a few days ago. It wasn’t their first time there but it was their first time being at the beach since they got their CGC certification and you know what I noticed about them? So this past weekend, Penny Lane and Elvis were officially CGC certified! For those of you who don’t know, CGC stands for Canine Good Citizen. It’s a two part program that stresses responsible pet ownership and basic good manners for dogs. No, I don’t need a badge or certificate to prove to people that my dogs are good but it goes a long way in proving that my “killer pit bulls” are not monsters or “unpredictable”. While some people still like to put the spike collars on them, I prefer to opt for the bandanas and “cute” collars. It’s almost like people see a different dog! As some of you know, Elvis went with me yesterday to help evaluate a pit that Priceless Pets wanted to pull the day this dog was supposed to be euthanized.
