Jude was adopted on Friday! And as most of you know, I write every foster a letter once they’ve been adopted. While caring for them gets easier, letting them go hurts every time. It’s such a good feeling at the same time, though. I know it’s hard to explain but these letters have become a form of closure for me and definitely help me realize how important fostering is. Here Jude’s letter…. Hey Jude, It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since I picked you up from the pound. I......

I am a huge Beatles fan, so when John started going with that theme with his fosters and on his blog, I was thrilled. However, despite that, I have to admit that the biggest impact in my experiences so far has not been because of the Fab Four, but instead the “King of Rock & Roll,” or rather the “King of the Pouty Face” – Elvis. The first time I went over to John’s house to meet him, Penny and Elvis (as well as his fosters, Wally and Lucy), I was nervous......

As we enter into the 4th week of Jude’s Journey, I can officially say he’s ready for his forever home! Here’s a little recap of last week… Health: Jude went back for a checkup at his vet. He has been responding well to his meds and he continues to be on prednisone but in a much lower dosage. His hair is not all the way back but it’s getting there! Just like my dogs, he will probably always have allergies and his condition is more of a result of neglect than anything.......

Knuckles has been on my mind all weekend. I’ve cried a lot and it’s affected my whole mood. While I’m not one to stay too down on myself, I also can’t help how I feel. I do believe that a lot of my sadness stems from guilt. I know I’m not feeling sorry for myself but maybe after reading this you will understand why I’m feeling the way I am… You know, when I first started with Priceless Pets, all I wanted to do was walk the dogs. Things quickly escalated and......

Be very selective in who makes you mad and who makes you cry, those emotions stem from love and love should be earned- Mom Back in June, I pulled a dog named, Knuckles. He was a senior pittie but just full of energy. Over the last few weeks, that boundless energy seemed to vanish. He was diagnosed with kidney failure and we laid him to rest yesterday. I don’t know any other way to communicate how I feel other than to write him a letter… Dear Knuckles, They say all dogs go......

My sole purpose for starting this website was to break the negative stereotypes and show people the REAL side of the “pit bull”. When my childhood friend, Stephanie, asked me if one of her friends could come meet Penny and Elvis I had no idea what it would turn into. Without giving too much away, she basically comes over a few mornings a week (before work) to learn everything she can about the dogs. When she asked if she could be an ongoing guest blogger, I was ecstatic. Plus, about a week......

As each week passes, Jude seems to be getting better in every aspect. And with each week that passes, I know his time as my foster dog is nearing! Health: The day I picked Jude up from the pound, his skin felt so leathery. The vet referred to it as “elephant skin”. It was callous and rough. I felt so bad for him. However, I’m happy to report that “leather skin” is no more! It’s soft like the rest of the dogs in the house and his hair is growing back everywhere!......

Last week, Elisha (Priceless Pets Pittie Crew) , Elvis and myself, went to the Del Haven Community Center to talk about Priceless Pets, the Pittie Crew, animal rescue, how to properly approach a dog, and responsible pet ownership. Del Haven Community Center offers a summer day camp for kids and is also a place to teach developmentally disabled adults. It was an amazing day that I really can’t put into words but I can write about how amazing Elisha and Elvis are. Elisha While I have always admired Elisha’s heart, I was unaware......

As some of you may know, I was asked by the Priceless Pets Pittie Crew to head on down to the Orange County Animal Shelter to evaluate a pit mix named Mozart. Mozart was an owner surrender and had been at the pound for over a month. Yesterday was his day. I literally got there minutes before he was set to be euthanized. And even though I didn’t have an appointment, there was no way I was leaving there without at least giving this dog a chance. Mozart passed and he was......

I’m entering my 2nd week with Jude and this guy is just awesome. Here are some things I’ve seen with him since the last update… Personality: Jude hates water. I mean, he tolerates his baths but even that’s a struggle! We can be walking down the street and if there are sprinklers on, he will try to go out into the street to avoid them. He refuses to walk on wet grass. If the grass is wet in the morning, he just does pees and poops right on the cement. It’s actually......

Sorry for the lack of posts last week. It was quite an eventful week! I was involved in pulling 6 dogs from a high kill shelter and then took in a mama pup and her NINE puppies under my roof to give her a place to raise her puppies. I thought today I’d give you a “day in the life” of what one day last week was like and how we all work together at Priceless Pets to save these dogs…. 7am: I don’t even need an alarm anymore. I just wake......

I will be posting a weekly update on Jude’s Journey all the way up to when he finds his forever family. I want to take you all along on his road to recovery. I basically want you to feel like you’re right there with me. It’s the least I could do after all the support and donations you have given him and Priceless Pets. So here’s a 1st week recap… Walking/Socialization: With every foster I take in, I make it mandatory for myself to walk them at least once a day so......

Not really sure what my penchant is for dogs and Beatles songs but they just seem to fit. However, I did not name Lucy nor did I name Wally but they still fit into the whole “Beatles thing”. Anyways, I realized that I’ve been fostering Wally for nearly a month and have yet to tell you his story. Less than a day after Fairfield got adopted, I was asked to take a senior beagle named, Wally, in. Wally was put in a night depository box at the pound. Not sure of the......

This is Sunny and Cher. They were adopted as puppies together and then brought back to the shelter because the owners “didn’t have time” anymore. We would love for them to be adopted together because they have never known life without each other. They do get along with other dogs but could benefit from some training since their owners didn’t have time for that either. You can email priceless.pets.@yahoo.com if you’re interested or have any questions!...
