It May Not Work Out Now, But It Doesn’t Mean It Won’t Work Out

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to help a handful of rescues in evaluating their dogs for potential adopters and dogs they have already adopted out and Angels for Animals Rescue is one of them. Yesterday, I went to see, Lady, because her owner was having some communication issues. Long story short, I told the owner I felt the dog was not a good match for him. It was nobody’s fault. It wasn’t the rescue’s fault, it wasn’t the adopter’s fault and it definitely wasn’t the dog’s fault. School of Dog......

Corky - I'll Never Forget You Bud

Today, we have a guest blogger. Her name is Melissa Vieira and lives in Massachusetts. We have never had the pleasure of meeting her but we’ve developed a very special and unique friendship with her. We have influenced her so much she got our “EAND” mission statement tattooed on her. She wanted to share her story about a dog named, Corky, that changed her life. Thank you, Melissa. Here’s her story… Thanksgiving day 2015, I received a text from a friend of mine who had adopted a dog from the shelter I......

Another 4th of July

Hey everyone! I know it’s been way too long since my last blog but to be honest with you I’ve had writers block ever since Sully got adopted. But with baby Camden coming soon I’m sure I will have plenty to write about. But today, I want to share a story with all of you… So it’s fireworks season around here and last week a noise went off and Penny reacted but because she was so close to nervous Fletcher, her and Fletch go into a little scuffle. Neither of them got......

One in a Million

This weeks #ZeldaStrong blog is by Susan Joseph the human behind the @Keepinitsonny Instagram account. She will tell you the story of her Joshua…  One in a million, without equal, once in a lifetime, presence, handsome, perfect.  Joshua was all this and more in my eyes.  He was a true joy to have in my life.  If money was no object I would have cloned him so he could be the last dog I ever had.  Then one day he is diagnosed with lymphoma and life as I know it changes. December......

Down to Earth

Back in 2001 there was this movie with, Chris Rock, titled, Down To Earth. Chris Rock plays a man that dies before his time and these two angels bring him back to Earth but in another body. Whenever he looks in the mirror he sees himself and he sounds like himself but to everyone else he looks and sounds like the body that he’s in. Throughout the movie, he convinces his manager that it’s really him by doing and saying things only he knows him to do and say. I’m going somewhere......

Live Like Roo

Today’s guest blogger is Sarah Lauch. She’s the co-founder of the Live Like Roo Foundation. Even though, Roo, crossed over the rainbow bridge in September, Sarah still honors Roo’s legacy ! Here’s their story… We created a Foundation and I had NO IDEA how many people and dogs would need us. It is pretty unbelievable, to say the least. Roosevelt (Roo) came into our lives on Easter 2015. We were not searching for a dog specifically like him, but we knew that we had to save him. His owner surrendered him because......

Dear Zelda,

Hey everyone! I know it’s been a while since I’ve written anything but today I want to share Zelda’s story with you. Zelda’s mom, Macie, lost Zelda at a very young age but she is determined to honor her legacy forever. In true ipittythebull fashion, she wrote her a letter. Here it is… Hello everyone! My name is Macie Mendoza and I am the Marketing Coordinator for iPittytheBull. Most of you probably know me as @Thepitsquad or “Zelda’s Mom”. For those of you who don’t know I lost my baby Zelda to......

Dear Sully,

As most of you know, I’ve been fostering a St. Bernard named, Sully, for the past 9 months. After many ups and downs, he’s finally found his home. And as I do with most of my fosters, I wrote him a letter… Dear Sully, Well, my friend, you’re on your way to your new home as I write this. It’s been quite an adventure the past 9 months but I can remember the day I picked you up like it was yesterday. I got a call from the girls at, Rescuing Philly......

Breed Specific

In the dog world, breed, is the topic that comes up most. When you tell someone you have a dog, usually the first question asked is “what breed?” When your dog does something good, usually the first question asked is, “what breed?” When your dog something bad, usually the first question asked is, “what breed?” In fact, the general public is so concerned with the breed of the dog that is seems to be the sole purpose of why a dog does what it does. So I’m gonna join in on the......

Feb 2016

About 2 years ago, Priceless Pet Rescue took a chance on a senior beagle named, Wally. He was left in a night time drop box and he had a laundry list of medical problems. He was given months to live and he turned it into just about 2 years…2 of the best years of my life. At 6:10pm on, February 24th, 2016, the dog we know as Wallelujah took his last breath and crossed over to the other side. I came home that night and wrote him this letter so he had......

Everything Changes Yet Everything Stays The Same

So if you follow us on social media, I’m sure most of you know that the love of my life has given me the greatest gift in the world. We’re having a baby!!! To be honest, at 39 years old, I had moved on from the fact that this would ever happen and I was more than happy with that. In my eyes, I already looked at Briana’s daughter as my own and she was already calling me dad so it’s not like I wasn’t a parent. And with 7 dogs and......

Finding Fiona

If you follow us on social media you probably know there’s a new foster her by the name of Fiona. Fiona had been in foster care for the past 2 years. I took her in as a favor for a friend in an effort to increase her chances of finding a home. She had communicated to me that Fiona was a nervous dog to begin with so I was prepared for that. When she got here she really wanted nothing to do with me or any of the dogs here. After 7......

Is The Love You Take Equal to the Love You Make

So for the past 12 months I’ve been in a relationship with the most amazing girl. I’ve been pretty much single for the last half of my 20’s and the first half of my 30’s. I had dated here and there but things just never seemed to click for one reason or another. Then Bri came along. On the outside, she’s tall, blonde, blue eyes and just absolutely beautiful. On the inside, though, she’s so much more. She’s a hard working mother, a loving daughter, an amazing sister, an animal rescuer and......

Kasey & Her Pack

I’ve been following Kasey and her pack (@88kncorbett) for a few years and I’ve always been fascinated with the way she got her pack to take pictures, especially her cat, Mia! I reached out to her to see if she would share her story on her pack and she was all about it. Not only is she a rescue advocate but she’s also a perfect example of a pet owner who follows through on her responsibility. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us, Kasey!! Here’s their story… Roxy:......

It Doesn’t Matter How Long It Takes… What Matters Is That You Take the Time

Hey everyone! I know it’s been a while. I haven’t had the time to write like I have in the past but I’m back! The past 4 months I’ve been on tour with the The School of Dog Psychology as an educational partner. Linn Boyke, the founder of the school, did 6 seminars to help people learn “how to learn” to have a better relationship with their dog by “humanizing” dog psychology. After attending his seminar, he put so many things into perspective that it changed the whole way I am with my......

Back at One…

About 3 months ago, Rescuing Philly Phoundation asked me to foster a St. Bernard named, Sully. He was rescued off death row at the last minute and while he got along great with any and all dogs, it was humans he was selective about. You see, Sully had bitten his two previous fosters. At first, we thought it was men but then he bit a female foster. But he was AWESOME with the girls at the rescue and all the employees (men and women) at the boarding facility spent time at. I was......
