FESTER - A Dog is Not a Possession

Everyone meet Fester. He’s a 2 year old bull terrier who was pulled from a high kill shelter by Priceless Pets.  Fester is also deaf.  It’s safe to say that someone paid a lot of money for Fester and like most dogs that cost a lot of money, you get a lot of over breeding.  With over breeding you get problems like being deaf.  From the scars that were already on his face, he was obviously very neglected and not taken care of. His owners probably thought they got a “bad dog”......

Penny Hates Backpacks

This was actually an old picture. I thought putting backpacks would be a positive thing for the pups.  I actually think they may have been too big.  Elvis didn’t seem to care either way but you would have thought there was 80 pounds of bricks inside of Penny’s backpack. As we walked down the street my neighbor asked me, “What did Penny do? She either looks depressed or she’s being punished for something.” lol  Some things just aren’t for some people…or dogs.  Penny hates backpacks.  Lol...

Coast to Coast - New York Bully Crew

So this past weekend, I went to New York for the first time to help a buddy move. I was so excited to go on a road trip across the country (I even met a roaming pittie at a gas station in Indiana) even though I’m not sure how my head would handle being in a car that long and then flying back. However, this was one of my best friends and helping your friends move is a rule you must abide by, even if it’s across the country! Now, when people visit......

Pepper - Find Out For Yourself

“The best way to find out about someone is to find out for yourself. Don’t believe what other people say because you will either be disappointed or you will be proven wrong.” – Mom Pepper was my first pull from a rescue.  She had been labeled aggressive, not getting along with other dogs and not good with people.  Priceless Pets had asked me to do an evaluation to see if what was being said about her was true or not.  I was so excited that they trusted me enough to do something......

Ignorance Is Bliss

This is what happens when people adopt a bully without knowing any of the bad stereotypes that come along with them.  Ban Ignorance.  Ignorance is bliss.  Enjoy your new life, Shadow!  You deserve it!  ...

A Visit To Ability First

FEATURED IN THE DAILY BULLETIN So Penny and Elvis got invited to Ability First to represent Priceless Pets as part of a PR event for America’s Family Pet Expo last week to teach kids about responsible pet care and how to approach a dog.  Ability First serves children and adults with developmental disabilities. The Pet Expo had asked if Priceless Pets could bring any dogs for the kids and they picked Penny and Elvis. This was a big moment for them. Not only did they get to represent such a great organization......

PENNY LANE - "You need a dog, John"

“You need a dog, John.” That’s what my psychologist kept telling me over and over again.  You see, after 6 concussions, seeing a psychologist is pretty much mandatory after hitting your head several times.  Prior to my 6th concussion I was all over the place.  I worked 40 hours a week, did PR work for a non-profit, managed a band, worked out regularly and still managed to have quite the social life.  I definitely didn’t have time for a dog and that’s exactly what I told her.  However, my doc loved to......

ELVIS - The best dog trainer is another dog

July 14th, 2012 – “After hanging with all the shelter dogs at Petco today, I’m seriously thinking about becoming a foster parent for these abandoned dogs to help socialize them so families will want them and we can change these peoples minds about a lot of these dogs, especially the pits and the rottys.” I remember posting this a few years back after meeting some people from, Priceless Pet Rescue,  and like most of the content we post, we say something one day and don’t necessarily feel that strongly about it the......

What can I say about Kurtis other than he’s probably one dog that at least one person in almost every city in the world probably knows about. You see, Kurtis isn’t supposed to be here. Kurtis was supposed to be a number that adds to the number of dogs that get neglected, abandoned and left for dead every year. He wasn’t supposed to have a story or a name. Kurtis was supposed to be nothing more than a casualty of what happens when you don’t fix your animals. Named after the man......

If you don’t know who Shadow is, he is an American Bully who was found emaciated in Moreno Valley while some people were out riding their motorcycles in the hills.  I had always seen pictures of starving dogs like Shadow but never in person.  He was 35 pounds when we picked him up.  He was weak and could not stand that well but he also had too much pride to hang his head down low.  After much needed medical attention and TLC, Priceless Pets and their awesome fosters got Shadow healthy enough......

So I feel like I should explain to all of you why I’m not adopting Kurtis.  This has NOTHING to do with the fact that I DON’T want to keep him.  How could I not?  I’ve spent countless days and nights making sure he’s received all his medical treatment.  Walks, baths, socialization, training, etc.  I love him. I love him so much it makes me sad to think he won’t be here much longer.  But I also love him so much that I need to let him go.  You see, in the......
