Women of the Priceless Pets Pittie Crew

In June of 2013, after receiving a grant from Best Friends Animal Society to help with the adoption and promotion of Pit Bull Terriers, Priceless Pet Rescue gave birth to the Priceless Pets Pittie Crew! Priceless Pets had always had success rescuing and adopting out the bullies so this was kind of a no-brainer when the opportunity presented itself. The Pittie Crew is an extension of Priceless Pets that devotes itself to promoting the bully breeds and reversing their negative stereotypes. The thing that is awesome about this is that it’s made......

ARIEL - All Our Boys

So my goal for this week is no sad posts. Animal rescue will break your heart more than you like but there is such a rewarding side to it. This week I want to focus on the success stories of these animals and the people that save them. We give enough attention to the people that abuse them, let’s look at the other side this week! Everyone meet Ariel. Ariel was born without her two front legs and then was dumped at the shelter, where in turn, she was rescued by Priceless......

May 2014

I thought we would start Monday off on a bright note since my last couple posts have been on the not so bright side… Last week, Elvis got to accompany some of the other Priceless Pet’s dogs to Western University as part of a “de-stressing” event for 1st year med students. This was great all the way around. The students got to take a break and hang out with the pups while the pups got out of the rescue to get some fresh air and socialize! And you’ll probably never hear about......

Pit Bull Terrier :: Male (neutered) Hello, my name is Rico and I am looking for my furrever home and family.  I grew up on the streets with my owner who was a homeless man.  I had to protect him, he was my best friend. I had to fight for my food  just to simply survive.  I was picked up off the streets and had a severe slash in my arm that went down to the bone.  After animal control picked me up I got neutered and had a really bad reaction.......

OTIS - Pet of the Month for April 2014 (adopted!!)

UPDATE: OTIS FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME!!! Otis is a special needs dog.  He was turned into the Vet’s office to be put down by his owners, because they could not afford the ongoing medical treatments Otis needs.  He has seizures, that can be controlled by medication, but routine blood test can be costly.  Otis is looking for a new home with someone who is willing to take on his medical condition and give him the time and love he needs! — click here to find out more about adopting Otis —...

Amber Is The Color Of Her Energy

Meet Amber.  Amber was actually adopted from Priceless Pets.  She ended up getting a case of mange and the owner decided that he did not want her anymore.  Instead of contacting Priceless Pets, he ended up dumping her at the pound instead.  Just know that Priceless Pets will ALWAYS take their dogs back! So for now, Amber will stay here until she is healthy and then we will find her a home.  I haven’t gotten to know her yet but so far she’s super sweet and very low key, especially for a......

Pack Walk 2014 - Priceless Pets Pittie Crew

If you’ve been following my blog for the short amount of time it’s been up, you will know how much I like to push people to spay and neuter their pets. It’s the biggest solution to cutting down the number of animals that die every year. And if you didn’t know, it’s in the MILLIONS!! On June 7th, The Priceless Pets Pittie Crew will be putting on their first ever Pack Walk! This event is open to ALL breeds of dogs! Not only will this walk promote the bully breeds and prove......

LUCY - Ain't Nothing but a Hound Dog (i think)

So it took a whole 2 days for Kurtis’ room to be filled by Lucy. Lucy was rescued off the streets of Mexico as a pregnant mom. She’s around 2 years old and I THINK she’s maybe a hound dog mix? At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. If you adopt her, she can be whatever you want her to be! When Lucy first came to us, she was a sweet dog. It wasn’t too long before she had her pups (and what cute pups they were!) and like......

All the Little Things

New relationships are the best. We spend so much time proving to our new love interest that we are the perfect match for them. We do all the “little things” and we listen, we pay attention. We WANT to know what makes you happy and what it’s going to take to make this relationship work because making YOU happy makes US happy! We take the time to learn about this person because it’s important to us. In turn, the other reciprocates and what you have is a perfectly functioning relationship. And then......

Save Another Dog's Life, by Keeping Yours

So this weekend is the Orange County Pet Expo.  Priceless Pets is loading up all their dogs and taking them there for the weekend so they can all be on display for adoption!  While they have been doing this for many years, this is the first I’ve heard of it.  But if you’re gonna get a dog adopted, this is THE place!  I would imagine animal lovers from all over will be coming to this 3 day event!  However, it saddens me a little because it brings to light just how many......

CHARLIE - 3 Legs of Love

In honor of the phenomenon they call, “Throwback Thursday”, I’m dedicating today to my 3 legged foster beagle named, Charlie! Back in February, Priceless Pets asked me to foster Charlie. He was a senior beagle with 3 legs. He had spent most of his life with neglectful owners. He was kept outside most of the time and was hardly paid attention to. He had lost his leg when he got it stuck under a fence and ended up getting it amputated. Apparently, this was enough for the owners to decide they did......

So The Man In Spandex Says To Me...

I’m not sure what it is but I feel like I give off that vibe that people can just voice their opinion to me. And when I first got Penny Lane, it became more apparent than ever! At first, I used to get super defensive and upset. In fact, I once threw a tennis ball at a lady who was telling me my dog should not be at the park,  just to prove that Penny doesn’t chase the ball without a command. I admit, it was not the most effective way to prove......

My Neighbor Nick

This little boy you see with Penny is my neighbor, Nick. Nick is 8 years old and just loves Penny. It’s very obvious that Penny loves him right back. She listens to him the way she listens to me and this kid just has a way with dogs. There are two things I want you to take away from watching these videos: Walking a dog is not so much about physical strength as it is “energy”. Teach your kids to respect animals. Education is a very important component to the welfare of......

Elvis Visits Brea Olinda High School

Remember when that high school let a pit bull on campus as part of an educational presentation? I do. That dog’s name was Elvis. Last week, Elvis accompanied Priceless Pets to Brea Olinda High School as part of a presentation to the kids about puppy mills and adopting over buying a dog. Elvis, of course, was a big hit. Whatever it is, Elvis just has “it” and people are just drawn to him. Click Here to sign up for our Pack Walk on June 7th PS…Did you know that Priceless Pets once......

Dear Kurtis,

Today’s blog was supposed to be about Elvis and his trip to Brea Olinda High School but I ended up writing a letter to Kurtis instead… Dear Kurtis, Kurtis, 4 months ago you came into my life and completely turned it upside down. I always knew I had a big heart but I didn’t know how strong it was until you showed up. I remember the first day I met you. It took me about 10 seconds to decide I was going to foster you. Even though I had no idea HOW......

Apr 2014

Each day 10,000 humans are born in the U.S. – and each day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born. As long as these birth rates exist, there will never be enough homes for all the animals. As a result, millions of healthy loving cats, dogs, kittens and puppies face early death as a form of animal control. Others are left to fend for themselves against automobiles, the elements, animals and cruel humans. What can you do to stop the suffering? Make a difference.  Spay and neuter your pets....
