Jude’s Journey – Week 2
by John Flores
I’m entering my 2nd week with Jude and this guy is just awesome. Here are some things I’ve seen with him since the last update…
Personality:
Jude hates water. I mean, he tolerates his baths but even that’s a struggle! We can be walking down the street and if there are sprinklers on, he will try to go out into the street to avoid them. He refuses to walk on wet grass. If the grass is wet in the morning, he just does pees and poops right on the cement. It’s actually quite comical and I don’t know if it’s actually an “issue” more than it is a personality trait.
Oh, and this boy loves to take pictures! He’s got the Elvis “pouty face” down but he also has the best smile!
Socialization:
I’m proud to say this guy is still an AWESOME walker. Lara Jenkins’ little boy was
walking Jude and pulling his sister in a wagon the other day! His “staring problem” is getting better as it seems he’s more focused on me when we walk which is exactly what you want!
He had his first meeting with Penny and Elvis a few days ago and it couldn’t have gone any better. He respects their space and he seems like such an easy going pup! I think Penny, Elvis and Wally have all given the “paws up” on Jude! His time is still limited but I can tell he really enjoys the company of dogs and people!
Health:
Jude is healthy enough to get neutered! In fact, by the time you read this his balls will probably be a thing of the past. His hair is growing back slowly but surely.
Feeding:
Still zero food aggression. He auto-sits for his food now! Not just from me but other people, as well! I don’t see this changing at all!
Recap:
Jude is pretty awesome. He’s going to make some family VERY happy someday! He’s so much happier than he was when he got here and it’s obvious he’s feeling better!
Hopefully, I can start taking him on the Priceless Pets Sunday Hikes soon so I can get an even better feel for him around dogs outside of the house!
See you next week for his Week 3 update!

Jude is young and maybe in his home (?) he was not exposed or privy to a grassy area; my family inherited a dog, age approximately 1 1/2. Previously he only had access to dirt and concrete. So in the beginning, he too, would poop and pee on patio. He eventually merged onto grass. Maybe he learned from watching our other dog. Good luck Jude, you’re looking better at every new picture.
Hey John, you aren’t photoshopping the photos are you???? JK
Kathy, he literally watches Penny, Elvis and Wally go on the grass and looks at them like they’re crazy. hahaha And I’ve tried photoshop, it’s too hard to use. lol
There’s something special about that little guy:) Happy he has someone like you to show him the ropes!!
