Women of the Priceless Pets Pittie Crew

In June of 2013, after receiving a grant from Best Friends Animal Society to help with the adoption and promotion of Pit Bull Terriers, Priceless Pet Rescue gave birth to the Priceless Pets Pittie Crew! Priceless Pets had always had success rescuing and adopting out the bullies so this was kind of a no-brainer when the opportunity presented itself. The Pittie Crew is an extension of Priceless Pets that devotes itself to promoting the bully breeds and reversing their negative stereotypes.

The thing that is awesome about this is that it’s made up of about 90% women! There are a total of 4 men in this crew! Yes, the world’s most “dangerous” and misunderstood breed of dog is being advocated by females. Most of these women are mothers, they all work full-time jobs or are in school and totally put to rest the stereotype that these dogs are only owned by criminals, drug dealers, and whatever else the media has brainwashed the general public with!

Headed up by, Mandy Stover, she and her crew have made GREAT strides into turning the upstanding community that is, Chino Hills, into a “pit bull” friendly community. With the help of Ashlee Price and Michael Frethy, she has surrounded herself with a team around her that matches her heart and dedication to this breed. In October of last year, the Pittie Crew put on their first ever “Pittie Fest” which was a success!! They have put on FREE spay/neuter clinics, educated the public and have had quite the presence on social media to help spread their message. Not to mention, they’ve saved the lives of countless “pit bulls” and placed them in the most amazing homes. They take the extra time to train them, to socialize them and to love them. And these women definitely do not lack experience when it comes to this breed. They know more about this breed than most guys I know that own bullies. In fact, if not for them I would not have Elvis!

I can’t tell you enough how awesome all these women (and 4 guys) are. I could probably write a separate blog for each one of them! Yes, they’re that awesome!! They definitely wear their heart on their sleeve and their passion is so strong you can almost feel it when you get around them! I would trust ANYBODY in this group with my dogs and if you know me, that’s saying a lot! It is no exaggeration when I say this crew works around the clock to get their message across! I feel so proud to be part of this awesome group! In fact, I see women stepping up all over the country as the main voice for this breed, which I think is an AWESOME statement. Yes, there are a few of us guys in our crew but the point I’m trying to make here is, if in fact, these dogs are so dangerous, how is it that so many women own them and advocate for them? In a world where this breed is extremely misunderstood maybe all “man’s best friend” needs is a woman to be their voice!
